Retro-Programming: Chinese programmer installed Windows 98 on iPhone 6 plus

The practical utility tends to zero - but it runs: A Chinese forum showing how an age-old Windows and retro-gaming classic look on Apple's new smartphone.

A few weeks ago, the Internet community amused by the bizarre idea of a US student to install Windows 95 on a Smart Watch. User xyq058775 Chinese Forum Feng.com now shows a similar tricks with a new iPhone: He or she has there photos from an iPhone 6 plus released, apparently on the Windows 98 Professional is installed.

In addition to the Microsoft-Oldie he or she get on the Apple device some retro games to life - the tech side "Winfuture" claims to have discovered including the popular in Asia classics "Qi Xia Zhuan Xianjian". Unfortunately there are no videos of installation.
For such an experiment can succeed at all, the Apple device had to be previously manipulated by a jailbreak. The time required for the current iPhone software Pangu 6 is not yet available long and useless to version 8.1.1 again through the coming soon iOS update - at least partially, and then only for a short time probably. User xyq058775 then installed on the iPhone emulator app DOSpad (formerly DOSBox). Emulates a DOS, to provide the basis of old programs - as just the 98 arg dusty Windows - Start.

The practical benefit of this exercise is kept within narrow limits, but that is not also. Here someone just wants to show what is possible.

Weird installations like these have a long tradition: So the guys from "Chip.de" with a trick Windows 8 could run on an Apple iPad, the US bloggers from Lifehacker installed the Google Android system on an old iPhone 3 and "computer screen" tinkered once the Mac OS X operating program in a Windows netbook.
