The competition of the chip maker goes into the next round. Companies like TSMC, Samsung, GlobalFoundries are fighting for market share and sales orders, and so it is no wonder that one tries to win hardware giants like Apple itself. So far, TSMC has established processors for Apple, last TSMC was responsible for the A8 chip, which was used for example in the iPhone 6. Due to a dispute in 2011, the cooperation takes but now a final e.

Therefore, the A9 processor in the future from Samsung is produced that have formed in the last year with Globalfoundries an alliance against TSMC. The chip is manufactured in South Korea, Samsung could invest this year up to 4.9 billion US dollars in the processor department. In addition, support outside of Seoul with 15 billion dollars more factories. Such orders accordingly mean an enormous gain for Samsung and a large share of the economic market.

The A9 processor produced is specialized to require as little power and energy and is therefore suitable not sufficient to make more CPUs and GPUs. However, the contract with Apple is a clear indication that the process at Samsung is working properly. In the coming months we will know more about the A9 chip and the successor to the iPhone 6.
