Apple extended exchange program for iPhone 5 batteries up to 2016


Apple has extended the free battery replacement program for the iPhone 5-2016. The program, launched last August relates to devices of iPhone 5 series, which were sold between September 2012 and January 2013, and is now considered on the date three years.

Apple had to admit last year that there had been some batches problems with the permanently installed battery. What kind of problems were exactly, was never made public by Apple's pages. States only that "a 5 devices shortens the battery life at a small number of iPhone or that the devices need to be charged more often."

But not all iPhone sales in the period in question 5 are affected. The qualified for sharing iPhone 5 devices fall within a certain range of serial numbers that everyone just can check yourself.
