3D Touch with iPhone 6 - is that possible?

At its annual keynote, Apple has presented a new display technology for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in 2015. Through 3D Touch iPhone recognizes how firmly you press with your finger on the screen and responds accordingly with new interaction possibilities. In this article, we explain you how 3D Touch also brings to the iPhone 6.

A novel display technology allows with the strength of finger pressure affect you, what kind of menu is displayed to you since the 6s series of iPhones. As had been done externally especially in comparison to the direct predecessor nothing of 3D touch is probably the most crucial selling point for the 6s and 6s Plus. A trick you can use the functionality but also on the iPhone 6 - in spite of the normal screen.

Enabling 3D touch by adding program for iPhone 6

Since the iPhone 6 technically does not have the facilities to enable 3D touch, you have to do that with the help of an additional program. The only hurdle: This program can install it only on an iPhone, which already has a jailbreak behind. Only then you can the app "Forcy" from the App Store Cydia to download and install.

The lack of display technology, however, a few drawbacks have to be made at the Forcy-Tweak:

Peek & Pop cannot be simulated.
Instead of fixed pressing on app icons when you have individual apps upwards swipe to display the Quick Actions.
Forcy does not work for all apps.
There is no vibration feedback as in the "real" 3D Touch.

Although Forcy therefore is not a full replacement for 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, it's at least a nice gimmick for everyone who is willing to perform a jailbreak on his iPhone. However, if you want to use the full functionality of 3D touch that does not come around to, you need to buy an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus.
